Janko de Beer is a South African artist whose work illustrates the precepts of contemporary futurism in art. His sculptures and paintings are expressions of natural movement, depicting mythical animals and figures hewn from bull kelp stems and other borrowed organic ocean material. Moulds are made from master sculptures, from which a limited number of RPS and bronze casts are produced before the masters are destroyed, and the material returned to the ocean.
